Welcome to All Saints Cotgrave |
Celebration of 25+ Years of Service to the Community |
On Sunday 6 November almost 100 people joined in the celebration of 25+ years of the life of the Cotgrave Advice Centre. Rev Canon Bryan Barrodale returned to All Saints' Church Cotgrave, where he was Rector when he set up the Cotgrave Advice Centre, to speak of the inception and beginnings of this valuable resource for Cotgrave. Also attending the service was Cllr Gordon Moore Mayor of Rushcliffe. The Service ended with a brilliant buffet including a splendid cake and wine to toast the success of the Advice Centre. When the Advice Centre was formed in 1984, Cotgrave had a lot of problems and while the Cotgrave colliery is now closed and the Town has developed with provision of a great new School, Swimming Pool, Country Park, Golf Course and all the accoutrements of a thriving vital community, the work of the Advice Centre is still needed. The Advice Centre offers two morning sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 5 December a Monday evening session from 5-7pm will be added. These sessions are all held in the Methodist Community Hall, behind the Methodist Church and all callers are very welcome. We have a visiting Solicitor on the first Thursday of each month and a Welfare Rights specialist available on Mondays and Tuesdays. We also offer an Income Tax Adviser. This supplements our debt counselling, form filling and general advice. All our services are free and confidential. Our staff are all volunteers trained and experienced in many areas to help with whatever queries come through the door. You only need an appointment for our Solicitor otherwise just call in and you will be seen by the first available adviser. Contact us by telephone on 0115 9893294 or email at cotgraveadvicecentre@gmail.com and we will get back to you. |
